About the Event

Join us for an evening of great food, sensational give aways and an inspirational encouragement from Paul Ravesteyn and a lot of fun!

Paul's Bio: Paul Ravesteyn started his working career as a carpenter, and as a 22-year-old in 1988, travelled throughout Central Africa as a builder with Mobile Mission Maintenance. While working in Zambia and Malawi, Paul saw gifted men and women, called by God to ministry, but lacking the financial resources to put their children in school, to buy medicine, and in some cases, to even to provide food for their families. Paul was convinced of the need to serve the vision of transforming communities through partnering with subsistent rural pastors with both financial support and training, a shared passion with his wife Renée, who grew up as the daughter of missionaries in rural Zambia. Returning to Australia with Renée, Paul established his own building company in the Adelaide Hills, and their family grew with the arrival of four sons. At the age of 30, in pursuit of his passion for ministry, Paul moved his family to Sydney to study. He earned a Bachelor of Theology and a Diploma of Ministries, and his first posting was at Epping Church of Christ as an associate minister. In 2004 Paul founded Northgate church in Belrose and was the Senior leader of this church for 17 years. Paul birthed Live Connection in 2000 and it has now grown to work in 15 countries in Africa, as well as the Philippines and Indonesia, helping to support over 230 indigenous pastors. Each pastor receives financial assistance, as well as leadership training. The pastors are encouraged not just to lead a church service, but to impact their wider communities with the love of God and the message of salvation found in Jesus Christ. His passion is to help people become all that they are created to be. His hobbies are kayaking, motorcycle riding, making pizzas, open fires and social gatherings.
